20.04.2021

Products from four Rosspirtprom distilleries were awarded gold medals at the international tasting competition of vodkas, spirits and alcoholic beverages "Eurasia Spirits Drinks 2021", which took place in Moscow on 25-26 February 2021. The competition was organised by the Russian Research & Development Institute of Food Biotechnology, a branch of the Federal Research Centre for Nutrition, Biotechnologies and Food Safety (Moscow), and the Innovation & Trading Company MEDMARK.

Just like in the previous year, spirits produced by Rosspirtprom distilleries received high scores from the independent expert panel at Eurasia Spirits Drinks 2021. Thus, Premium Ltd. won the Grand Prix as well as Gold in two categories: Best Alpha Grade Spirit and Best Luxe Grade Spirit. In addition, Zernoprodukt Ltd. received the top award for Alpha Spirit, and spirits produced by Prestige Ltd. and Etalon Ltd. were named winners in the Luxe category.

27 samples of spirits and 112 samples of vodkas and alcoholic beverages from seven participating countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Finland, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were submitted for the 2021 edition of the Eurasia Spirits Drinks competition. The jury included the best tasters from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus who have extensive practical experience as well as scientific and theoretical knowledge of tasting basics. The fundamental principles declared by Eurasia Spirits Drinks are maximum objectivity and transparency; therefore, samples are evaluated by independent tasters who are not related to producers. The Tasting Commission is chaired by Irina Abramova, Director of the Russian Research & Development Institute of Food Biotechnology.

The competition featured 13 key categories which assessed organoleptic characteristics and four special categories (ECO Style, NEW Technology, NEW Style and Retail Chains’ Choice) where ecological compatibility, level of safety and innovation and opinions of external tasters from major Russian retail chains served as additional assessment criteria.

Irina Polyakova, Head of Quality and Metrology Service, Spirits Production Department, JSC Rosspirtprom, was a member of the Supervisory Board of Eurasia Spirits Drinks 2021. This year, employees of the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation and representatives of major spirits and alcoholic beverages producers as well as industry publications were invited to serve on the competition's Supervisory Board. Members of the Supervisory Board took part in assigning a numerical code to the submitted samples before the start of the tasting and also supervised the work of experts during the tasting process.
